Son of S.V. Sharma and Vijaya Sharma, he was born in Mumbai on 11/21/1960. He grew up in Chennai, India attending college at KRC for his B Tech in Electrical Engineering and Electronics. He migrated to the US at a young age, where he completed his MS in Computer Science at Drexel University and earned his MBA from Yale University. A decade after coming to America Mani left the east coast behind for the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
Anyone who met Mani instantly liked him. His charming smile, kind gentle personality - his humility, integrity and generosity of spirit was evident to everyone who crossed his path. He had many friends and his hallmark trait was that he readily helped anyone who needed help without questions or expectations of reciprocity. He loved volunteering at the local soup kitchen, getting to know the staff and clients.
Mani loved his family the way he loved everything: more than himself. His family mourns his loss tremendously and are grateful for being able to spend his last weeks with him, nurturing and caring for him during his illness, a small return for all that he has done.
Mani is predeceased by his father. He is survived by his loving and devoted mother Vijaya Sharma; His sisters Girija Surya, Sarayu (Balu Raman) and Rema Sharma; His brother Prakash Sharma (Annemarie Canthaswami); His nephews and nieces whom he loved like his own children Shanker Raman (Amy Patel), Kristen Surya, Maithreyi Canthaswami-Prakash (Gautham Raman) and Mark Surya.
Mani’s life will be remembered for his loving nature, kind generous spirit and compassion for others. He will be loved eternally by family and friends in whose hearts his spirit survives.
Donations in Mani’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com.
