

Margaret ""Madge"" Ellinger1/20/1917-2/9/2009Margaret ""Madge"" Ellinger passed away at the HospiceCare Center in Louisville on February 9, 2009. She was born on January 20, 1917 to Archibald and Agnes Long in Kansas City, MO where she attended Paseo High School. Madge married Maurice Ellinger on July 5, 1942 in Fort Belvoir, VA and was a military wife until Maurice retired from the U.S. Army in 1965. They settled in Boulder in 1958 and moved to Longmont in 1979. Madge enjoyed flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed traveling in both the U.S. and Europe with her husband and children. Madge was part of the Altar and Rosary Society in the many parishes she belonged to. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family dearly. Madge was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice; a brother, Roy Long and sisters Agatha Ellis, Mary Dowd, and Mabel Docman. She is survived by her sons Richard (Jan) Ellinger of Erie and Thomas (Chris) Ellinger of Prescott Valley, AZ; daughters Maureen (Larry) Taylor of Longmont and Anne Reed of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren Debbie Shannon, Donna Chen, Christie Smith, Stephanie Fenstermaker, Spencer and Shannon Taylor, Travis and Taylor Reed, and Dawn Buckelew; great-grandchildren Megan, Alisa, Connor, Mia, Matthew, Teaghan, Tahnee, Tanner, Kalin, Kanti, and Emma Claire; sisters Billie O'Brien and Archa Hanlon of Kansas City, MO.A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2009 from 2:00-4:00 P.M at Howe Mortuary. A rosary will follow at 7:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 13 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Longmont. Interment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, 2594 Trailridge Drive East, Suite A, Lafayette, CO 80026 as well as the St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund, 2410 Trade Centre Ave # B, Longmont, CO 80503.
