

Ruth ""Margaret"" Bailey Faverty passed away Saturday, December 28 in Longmont, CO. She was 86. Margaret was born on a farm in Indiana where her family raised hereford cattle and sweet corn. She attended Ball State University. She married Marion William Faverty, Jr. in Lowell, Indiana in February 1948 and had five children.
After their fifth child was born, they spent the next 20 years moving every few years, and Margaret worked as a Claims Adjuster for Allstate Insurance. The Favertys lived in Arizona, California, Utah, Oregon, Idaho, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Marion and Margaret retired in Estacada, OR. where they were active in Eastern Star, Odd Fellows, and Rebekahs.
After losing her husband and love of her life, Marion in 1999, she moved to Longmont, CO where she was a long-time volunteer for Meals on Wheels and the Longmont Humane Society Thrift Store. She also continued her active involvement in Eastern Star, Rebekahs, and the United Methodist Women's Circle in Longmont.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Marion William Faverty Jr., and a son, Frederic Michael. Margaret is survived by four children, Patrick of Arroyo Grande CA, Alice Linhart (Mike) of Swisher IA, Brian of Longmont CO, and Ellen Williamson (Michael) of Loveland CO. She is also survived by daughter in law, Sheri Faverty, of Estacada OR, eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; Scott (wife Erin, daughter Emerald Darling) of San Carlos CA, Andra Briant (husband Gary, sons Dean, Gavin) of Salinas CA, Shannon (Shae) Faverty of San Carlos CA, Jason (sons Riley and Sebastian, daughter Joslynn) of Twin Falls ID, Jenny Harding (husband Tom, daughter Haley, and son JJ) of Estacada OR, Rachel Craft (husband Seth, sons Gage and Samuel, daughters Brooklyn, Sierra, and Summer) of Camas WA, Daniel Williamson of Denver CO, and Christopher Williamson of Shullsburg WI. She is also survived by three sisters, two brothers and many nieces and nephews; Charles Bailey (Margaret) of Lowell IN, Donald Bailey (Sug) of Lowell IN, Mary Glenn Kirkland of Jackson MI, Jewell Russell (Carroll) of Henderson NV, and Barbara Lavietes (Bob) of Hollywood FL. Margaret had a very close and loving relationship with her niece Fiona and husband Bruce Gibson of Loveland CO.
Margaret was a kind and generous mother, sister, aunt, and friend; very giving and philanthropic. She loved to knit, quilt, and do crafts, and was an avid reader. She was passionate about her love of companion animals, and always had pets in her life. Margaret will be missed dearly and will leave a void in many lives.
Family humbly requests any memorials on Margaret's behalf be sent to any of her favorite charities; Longmont Humane Society, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah, and the American Heart Association.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at First United Methodist Church, Longmont.
