Margarite Jean Yocum Spendlow

Margarite Jean Yocum Spendlow 82, of Longmont passed away March 23, 2016 at Longmont United Hospital. She was born February 13, 1934 in Blaine, Colorado to Earl and Maxine (Halsey) Beasley.Jean graduated from Lafayette High School in 1952. She married Jim Yocum in 1952 in Lafayette, CO he passed away in 1986. Jean married Art Spendlow in 1989 also in Lafayette, CO, he passed away in 2009. Jean was a homemaker and also worked at Sears and for Yocum Plastering Company.She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Lafayette Senior Center. Jean could play the piano by ear, any song she heard, she could play on the piano. She was an avid reader, she enjoyed China painting, embroidering, playing card games and shopping.She was preceded in death by husbands Jim in 1986 and Art in 2009; her parents; a brother Del Beasley; and a sister Beverly Blackman. Jean is survived by her daughters; Toni Tessier and husband Richard of Sandpoint, Idaho and Jae Novotny and husband Marc of Platteville, CO, three grandchildren Beau West, Britney Ribera and Jaeden Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be 11:00 AM Saturday April 2, 2016 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel 326 Terry St. Longmont, CO. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Longmont Humane Society.
