Marian Annette French

Marian was born on December 30, 1923 in LaPorte City, Iowa to Lee Frank Effner and Elizabeth Lucille (White) Effner. She moved to Ft. Collins in 1934.

Marian graduated from Ft. Collins High School in 1941. She would later return to school, attending and graduating from University of Northern Colorado. Following her graduating she taught at Loma Linda Elementary School for 14 years, retiring in 1975.

Marian married Robert Hill in April 1943 in Longmont. He preceded her in death in l966. She married Frank French on August 16, 1967 in Longmont. He preceded her in death in 1999.

Marian and Frank enjoyed many years living in both Longmont and Estes Park. She loved the mountains, especially fishing and hiking. She was an avid bridge player. She enjoyed following the Rockies and Broncos. Her love of music had her frequenting local dinner theaters.

Also preceding her in death are a brother Lee Effner and three grandchildren Jason Hill, Madison Hill, and Riley Fornstrom.

Surviving are her children Dan (Karen) Hill of Casper, Wyoming; Jan (Steve) Linn of Kimball, Nebraska. Larry (Liz) French of Longmont; Sharie (Roger) Lee of Longmont and Don (Dawn Swift) French of Salida, Colorado; sisters Patricia Forney of Ft. Collins; JoAnn Huffman of Conifer, Colorado; and sister in law Marsha Effner of Timnath, Colorado; 14 grandchildren; Corey Hill, Traci Hill, Mark Fornstrsom, Justin Fornstrum, Larrick French, Jessica French, David Lee, Shawn Lee, Matthew Lee, Kami Puchino, Robyn Lawson, Beth Fife, and Marci French; 32 great grandchildren Mason, Landon, Keefer, Cade, Ryan, Andrew, Christopher, Taylor, Westin, Roman, Julian, Gabriel, Corra, Larrick, Lillie, Ryan, Lauryn, Taryn, Tristen, Kaleb, Karrlynn, Natalia, Dominic, Luke, Anthony, Victoria, Charles, Blake, Lacy, Everett, Elijah and Zion.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
