Marie Sandoval passed away peacefully at The Bridge of Longmont on June 15th after her long-fought battle with rheumatoid arthritis. She kept her humor and faith with her until her last breath and was surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Greeley Colorado to Salvador and Lillian Vigil. She lived in Colorado all of her life where she earned her diploma from Longmont Main Street School in 1979. She met and married the love of her life, Stan Sandoval and was married for 50 years and they built a home to raise their three children. She worked at IBM in various roles for many years and was proud of the fact that she never used one day of sick time. She then worked for the St. Vrain Valley School District until she retired at the age of 78. She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvador Vigil and Lillian Duran, her husband, Stan Sandoval, and her sister Rosie Duran, her brother Jim Vigil. She is survived by her children, Dr. Mike Sandoval, Randy (Lorie) Sandoval, Tanya (Ronnie) Klimecki, grandchildren – Shanna Sandoval, Erika (Travis) Olberding, Lea (Ryan) McGonigal, Janti Klimecki, Jalen Sandoval, Dilyn Sandoval and Evan Sandoval. Great grandchildren Rebecka McGonigal, Nathan McGonigal, Jaxon Olberding. Sister Susan Segura and many nieces and nephews.
She was a woman of faith and was an active member of New Creations Church. She had befriended many and stayed in contact with both family and friends. She was an amazing cook and her Sunday breakfasts were legendary. She was funny, witty and quick with a comeback. She enjoyed bingo, garage sales and kept a daily diary for her entire life. She was the point of contact for all family events and had a calendar that notated all birthdays and anniversaries. She was loved by many and knew someone on every outing, so much so that a quick run to the store usually took a few hours. She was a great wife, mother, grandma, sister and friend and will be greatly missed.
