
Martha Covill of Longmont died September 4, 2007 at North Suburban Medical Center in Thornton. She was 61.Martha was born December 5, 1945 in Painesville, Ohio to Theodore Henry Klaus and Pauline Louisa (Poburski) Steffens. She grew up in Thompson, Ohio and graduated from Thompson High School in 1963. She married Robert Charles Covill in Thompson on September 18, 1964. The family moved to Colorado Springs in 1975, to Arizona for a few years, and has lived in Longmont since 1984.Martha was a homemaker who took care of her family. She also was a home health care giver for a number of years and most recently was a job planner for Skyline Business Forms in Denver. Martha was an accomplished painter and scratch artist and enjoyed growing flowers in her garden. She was also an accomplished organist and played for her churches in Ohio, Arizona and Colorado. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Longmont.Mrs. Covill was preceded in death by her father and a nephew, Wayne Steffens. Martha is survived by her husband, Robert of Longmont; her mother, Pauline Steffens of Painesville, Ohio, three sons: Jeffery Covill of Longmont, Lee Covill and his wife Jennifer of Longmont, and Robert and his wife Dawn of Fleming, Colorado; a daughter, Deborah Senior and her husband Michael of Longmont; two brothers: William Steffens and his wife Clarice of Murphy, North Carolina and Fred Steffens and his wife Janice of Concord, Ohio; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Howe Mortuary with Pastor Kent Schnegelberger of Messiah Lutheran Church officiating.
