Mavis Eileen Van Matre

Mavis Iverson graduated from Bagley High School, Bemidji State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, as well as the University of Minnesota (Duluth) with a Master's Degree in Special Education.

Mavis was married to Charles D. Van Matre who preceded her in death in November of 2018.

She was a member of the Faith Community Lutheran Church of

Longmont, Colorado and had a special relationship with her Pastor, Dan Hansen. Mavis had a loving passion for people, country western music and especially country western dancing. Her lifelong passion was that of being an avid student of the Bible.

Mavis is survived by children: Dave Matson (Mary) of Cooperstown,

North Dakota, daughter Sherry Wright (Gary) of Longmont,

Colorado. Grandchildren Jessica Fluto (Zach) of West Fargo, North Dakota, Julia Matson of Phoenix, Arizona and David Wright (Kami) of Maple Valley, Washington.

Great-Grandchildren Isaac Fluto, Asher Fluto, Morgan Wright, Annika Wright.

Mavis is survived by her brother Burnell Skjervheim (Renae) of Langdon, North Dakota.

Lutheran graveside service to be held at the Bagley Cemetery in Bagley, Minnesota at 2:00pm on July 12, 2020.
