
Mrs. Maxine Yeager Baker, 95, of Longmont, died Tuesday, August 2, 2011.She was born January 20, 1916 in Longmont, to the late George and Vahna Yeager.She married Joseph Baker in Longmont on January 24, 1934, and they moved to Richland, Washington in 1943, where J worked on the Manhattan Project. Following J 's retirement, they returned to Longmont. J passed away in 1996 after almost sixty-two years of marriage.While in Longmont, Maxine was an active member of Country Club, where her mother was a founding member, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Red Hat Society, and HEO (Helping Each Other). She belonged to the congregation of First United Methodist Church of Longmont, where she was a Martha's Circle member.Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three brothers, George, Jr., Ohrt, and Donald.She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Carolyn Baker, of Ellijay, Georgia; sisters Jean Finley, of Longmont, Colorado, Charlotte Preston of Flagler, Colorado, and Eva Peer, of Denver, Colorado; granddaughters Dawn Wolf and Kelly Holman, of Richland, Washington, and Heather Baker, of Collingswood, New Jersey; great-grandson Eric Wolf, of Richland, Washington; great-great-granddaughter Haven Wolf, of Richland, Washington; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.Maxine will be interred with her late husband at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Richland, Washington. Cremation has taken place at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. In memory of Maxine, donations may be made to the American Stroke Association and can be mailed to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
