

Michael was born on January 10, 1988 in Houston, Texas. He passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord on August 23. He is survived by his parents Nancy Hazel Kainer and Don Kainer; wife Amy Kainer and children Logan and Halle; sister Kathryn Kainer Cafazza, brother-in-law Charles Cafazza and nieces Claire (Goddaughter) and Lauren Cafazza.
Michael graduated from Silver Creek HS (Valedictorian) and the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He also received his Professional Engineering certification for the state of Colorado. Michael worked on numerous engineering projects including the Johnson tunnel in Colorado and the Lake Champlain bridge in Vermont. He also worked on numerous water projects in Colorado, repairing existing infrastructure to assure continued pressure and eliminate wasteful leakage. He also worked on providing water resources for Eastern Denver and Colorado Springs. Michael was an active soccer player from age 4 to adulthood, playing club soccer and varsity soccer at Silver Creek. He also played varsity football at Silver Creek as a senior. Michael was an avid golfer who took pride in out-driving his father. Michael was a devoted father to his children. He loved to build race car tracks and assemble monster trucks for his son, and play games and have dance parties with his daughter. He had a wonderful sense of humor, particularly his impressions of actors and scenes from movies. Michael was a joy to all he met and a caring person with a big heart. His passing leaves a void in our lives and he will be sadly missed.

There will be a Rosary on Thursday September 4, 2025 at 10 AM, followed by a Memorial Mass at 10:30 AM, at St Francis Of Assisi Catholic Church 3791 Pike Rd, Longmont, CO 80503, there will be a reception following the mass in the St. Clare Reception Hall.
