Mike Fabian

Mike Fabian, a longtime Summit County resident, died unexpectantly from natural causes Saturday morning while visiting family in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He was 45. Mike had a great connection to the water and was an avid sailor and whitewater rafter. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and backcountry hut trips. To his many friends and family, Mike was a giving and generous soul who would be there with support at a moment's notice. Summit Cable Corportion was Mike's first business in Summit County and he was most recently employed by Breckenridge Crane and Concrete. additionally he enjoyed performing as a cast member with Breckenridge Backstage Theatre. Mike is survived by his wife, Jill Creager Fabian; his children, Shelby and Dylan Fabian; his father, Steven Fabian and his wife Lee; four brothers, Steve Fabian and his wife Patti, Edward Fabian, David Fabian and his wife Zenda, Richard Fabian and his wife Nancy; a sister, Mary Jenson and her husband Doug; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Silverthorne Pavilion on Friday at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to a memorial fund at First Bank of Colorado in Dillon to benefit his children's educational fund.
