Patrick F Casey

Pat was born December 3, 1941 in Sioux City, Iowa to Harold and Opal (Maurer) Casey. Pat graduated from Oakland CA High School in 1959. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served as a jet mechanic and Air Crew member on the A3D and F4 aircraft until his honorable discharge in 1962. While stationed at NAS San Diego, he met his future wife Mary Ellen Coulson. On November 23, 1963, they were married at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont. After their marriage, they moved to the bay area of California where Pat became a motorcycle officer for the California Highway Patrol until 1973 when they moved back to Longmont. Pat then joined the Westminster Police Department where he served as a motorcycle Officer, Sergeant, and Lieutenant until his retirement in 2003. During his time at the Westminster PD, he was selected to attend the 149th session at the FBI Academy. After retirement, he worked at the Howe Mortuary in Longmont until 2017 when his health would no longer allow him to work.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary, of Frederick, sister Joan Del Piano of California; children Brian (Sheri) of Wyoming; Tim (Susie) of Washington and Katie (Jeff) of Frederick; grandchildren: Nichole, Alyssa, Brieanne, Shelby, Shanley and MaKenna; in addition, three great grandchildren also survive. Pat was preceded in death by his parents.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Frederick, CO. Please wear your Harley shirts or casual attire. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 32 and the United States Navy. In addition, the Westminster Police Department Honor Guard will provide honors.

Services will conclude at the church with a reception to immediately follow in the Parish Hall. Private family inurnment will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont.
