

Patrick Steven Darenberg, cherished son, brother, and uncle, passed away on January 20, 2025 at the age of 28. Born to Richard George Jr. and Sally Ann Darenberg of Firestone, CO, Patrick brought boundless energy, passion, and loyalty to those fortunate to know him.
Patrick grew up with his older brother, Ryan James, and twin brother, William Cody, forming lifelong bonds. Patrick and his family moved from Chandler, AZ in 2001 to the Colorado area where he graduated from Lyons High School and Olde Columbine High School, he pursued a career in mechanics at Ball Corporation in Golden, CO, showcasing his hardworking and dependable spirit.
Patrick was a doting uncle, he lovingly called himself "The BEST Uncle" and was deeply involved in the lives of his nieces and nephews. He found joy in an active lifestyle, excelling in soccer, football, baseball, wrestling, karate, strength training, swimming, and road bicycling. One of his proudest accomplishments was riding alongside his father, Richard, in the Tour de Cure for Diabetes, a 100-mile bike ride, at just 13 years old after training for a year together to accomplish this Charity Fund Campaign.
A member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Patrick was also active in student governance, sports, and music during his school years. He proudly played football, ran track, wrestled, and performed in the band, leaving a legacy as a versatile and dedicated student-athlete where he returned a kickoff 74 yards for a touchdown his sophomore year on the varsity team.
Patrick's hobbies reflected his vibrant personality—he enjoyed machine operations, gaming, reading, horror movies, sneaker-head, and was the best Duo partner playing Zombies. He was a profound debater, whose articulate arguments could win over any audience. Those who knew him describe him as fiercely loyal, charismatic, intelligent, thoughtful, and considerate.
Patrick's beloved partner, Lyn (Elizabeth) Georgia Freeman, and their cherished pets, Skye, Nala, and Atlas, brought him immense comfort and joy. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Sally; brothers, Ryan and wife, Heather Joy Bonner and William and partner, Amy Lee Novosad; nieces and nephews, Brooks Hudson Darenberg, Scarlett Joy Darenberg, and Baby Boy Darenberg (to be named); Paternal Grandmother, Barbara Ann Darenberg, and, Aunt Debbie Mace both of St. Augustine, FL, Uncle Steven Carl and Aunt Debbie Darenberg of East Hampton, L.I., NY, Aunt Kay Pendleton of Dallas, TX, Aunt Janet Bracher of Dallas, TX, Uncle William C. Siddens of Amarillo, TX; numerous cousins in NY, VA, TX, CA.
Patrick will be remembered for his big heart, love for his family and friends, and an unwavering spirit that touched everyone around him.
A celebration of Patrick's life will be held on Wednesday February 5, 2025 with visitation from 9:30-10:30am and service immediately following at 10:30am at Howe Mortuary. Burial will be held at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery. In Patrick’s name the family encourages donations to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in his memory.
