

Paul was born to Ethel and Clyde Sadler on March 2, 1930 in Waukon, Iowa. He moved to Boulder, along with his family, who opened Sadler Photography in 1938. Paul grew up in Boulder and graduated from Boulder High School. While working at his family’s photography studio Paul met the love his life, Wilma Kirkmeyer, who was working next door at a neighboring beauty shop. They were high school sweet hearts and were married on August 27, 1950. They were married for 62 years, until Paul’s death, and have three children Stephen Sadler, James Sadler and Paula Sue Bliss.
Paul is survived by five grand children Stephannie Schiro, Sarah Ryan, Thomas Bliss, Randall Sadler and Colene Bliss. He is survived by five great grand children Kyle Schiro, Annie Schiro, Yili Schiro, Almaz Schiro and Noah Sadler and one brother Robert Sadler. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Virginia Porter and brother Neal Sadler.
Paul proudly served in the United States Army as a cavalry sergeant during the Korean War and was stationed in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Following an honorable discharge Paul began working at the Rocky Flats Plant where he worked for 33 years as a photographer. Paul also established himself as a talented wedding photographer and spent over 40 years immortalizing hundreds of wedding ceremonies all over the Boulder, Longmont and the greater Denver area.
Paul had an amazing zest for life and embodied the phrase “He never met a stranger.” He was a life time member of the Boulder Elks club and spent many hours donating time to worthy causes. He especially loved to restore antique automobiles and was a member of the St. Vrain Car Club and the Buick Club of America. He loved and excelled at bowling. He served on the Board of Directors for the Boulder Rural Fire Department and worked for the Boulder Police Department helping regulate handicap parking availability.
Paul was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to hundreds. He will be missed by all including his adoring pet Chihuahua, Pebbles.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life service at Howe Mortuary at 1:00 pm on Wednesday April 11, 2012. A reception will follow at the Twin Peaks golf course 1200 Cornell Drive, Longmont, Colorado.
In honor of Paul’s life friends and family are asked to drive, park and display their antique cars in the parking lot at the reception. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Paul’s name to the American Cancer Society.
