Paula Rae Ames

Paula Rae Ames, 57, of Longmont passed away February 3, 2018. She was born March 4, 1960 in Rupert, Idaho to James and Lila (Abbott) Watson and raised in Washington State, moving to Longmont in 1980. She met and married the love of her life Charles Ames on December 15, 1994. Paula loved her home, putting her heart and soul into it. She didn't need much to make her happy and had a positive outlook on life. Paula enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, canning, taking drives on the weekends and road trips for vacations. She also liked to read, crochet, and play board games with her grandchildren. Paula was a devoted grandmother and enjoyed weekends with the grandkids. Last summer, Paula put on her mask, hat and gloves and worked on her beautiful roses. Paula courageously fought against Leukemia, never giving up and willing to try all treatments that might provide a cure. Paula always had a smile and positive attitude even during the worst days of her treatment. She was a people person, loved to talk, and made friends easily. She was a kind, loving, and caring woman who enjoyed helping those around her.Paula proudly worked at an Accounting and Tax firm in Boulder. She loved her job and working with the customers and co-workers, doing whatever it took to complete everything asked of her.Paula is survived by her husband Charles, son Brian, brother Michael, sister Kelly (Keith), sisters-in-law Linda and Connie (Doug), brother-in-law John(Gay) and grandchildren Dillon, Anthony, Nicole and Jenna.Memorial service will be at 10 AM on Tuesday Feb. 20, 2018 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
