

She was born on March 23, 1959, in Boulder, Colorado, the cherished daughter of Paul and Wilma Sadler and grew up alongside her two brothers Steve and Jim. Paula spent her early years in Boulder, later moving to the country north of Boulder.
Paula graduated from Niwot High School in 1977. At Niwot she met the love of her life, John Bliss. They married in 1981 and together built a life centered around their family and their farm.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents Paul Sadler and Wilma Kirkmeyer Sadler and her brother Jim Sadler.
She is survived by her husband John, her son Thomas and his life partner Lacey Lockwood, her daughter Colene Bensink and husband Terence, and her five grandchildren Sterling, Cora, Ryland, Mari, and Davis. Paula is also survived by her brother, Steve Sadler.
Paula was a woman of remarkable strength, deep generosity, and a lifelong love of horses. She found joy in sharing the beauty of her farm with friends and family, inviting them to “play horses” and “play dogs,” creating a place where everyone could experience the magic of the farm. Paula’s warmth, her love of family, and her generous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service to celebrate Paula’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 29, at Howe Mortuary, 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, Colorado, 80501.
