Peter Thomas Pfauth, aged 59, died unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, August 23rd, 2025. Pete was on a camping trip with his best friend and brother Fritz, and their good friend Scott. Pete was born on November 19th, 1965.
Pete was born and raised in Longmont, CO. He fell in love with cooking at a young age, quickly rising to become one of the top 100 Chefs in Colorado. He eventually moved on and joined the trucking industry and founded his own trucking companies which he built and sold to great success.
Pete met Karyn Hall in July 1991 and quickly fell in love and married her in September of 1991, and they began their family the following year. They moved to Brighton, CO where they raised their children, and remained there until just a few months ago when Pete retired.
Pete was a constant adventurer. He was at home riding his snowmobile every winter and taking to the skies in his plane during the summer. Cooking remained a passion over the years for him, constantly wowing his guests with fantastic meals and treating them to his specialties, such as eggs benedict, chicken marsala, or cheesecake.
Pete and Karyn recently retired and had begun to travel the world. Karyn successfully got him to New Zealand for the first time after 33 years of marriage. Pete was enjoying retirement, and was having fun enjoying concerts, travel, boating, flying, and was avidly looking forward to this upcoming snowmobile season.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Karyn, his children and their partners; Becky and Victor, Matt and Katharine, and Makayla and Jon. His brothers; Dennis, Dan, Fritz, and Scott. His sister Margaret. Four Grandchildren; Reaghan, Aaliyah, A’ja, and Kammie. Many nieces, nephews, and other in-laws, and his pets Jules, Marley, and Callie. And he is loved by the whole Hall family in New Zealand.
Pete was predeceased by his father Jerry, mother Alice, sister Sue, son Cameron, nieces Kresta and Sarah, grandniece Trinity, and many dogs including Trixie, Hugo, Smokie, Heidi, and Tootsie.
A service for Pete will be held on Friday September 5th at Howe Mortuary at 2PM. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Flowers are welcome, or donations can be made in Pete’s name to the Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s foundation.
