

Raymond “Ray” moved to Colorado Springs, CO in 1970, where he raised 4 children with his first wife. In 1974, he met the love of his life, Janet Larsen, they were married on February 14, 1975, at which time he became a loving dad to her 3 daughters. They celebrated their 50th anniversary on Valentines Day this year. They moved to Longmont, CO in 1981.
Ray enlisted in the Army on December 30, 1960 and served in the 5th infantry at Ft. Carson, Colorado. He was honorably discharged on December 4, 1963. Ray was a long time mechanic and did building maintenance for Beech Aircraft. He retired from Fleet Services with the City of Longmont after 17 years on September 18, 2004.
Ray had a strong passion for eagles as they represented bravery, strength and freedom. Ray loved riding his motorcycle in the mountains and going on short trips with his buddies. Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, and flying his drone. After retirement Ray and Janet took many wonderful trips in their RV, visiting numerous states and experiencing the freedom of being able to travel and make beautiful memories. Most importantly, Ray had deep love for his entire family. Ray shared his love through his smiles, laughter, encouragement, guidance and hugs.
Ray was the most amazing dad and husband. We are all beyond blessed for the years we had with him and his memories will live in our hearts forever. Ray is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet Kruppa, his sons: John Kruppa and Jeff Kruppa, his daughters: Brenda Spicer, Michelle Harden (Jake), Tamara Thompson (James), Lisa Rademacher (Kevin) and Regina Moore, grandchildren: Jeremy Schlagel, Jessica Schlagel Brunscheen (Jon), Taylor Rademacher, James Jenkins, Sidney Jenkins, Joseph Spicer, Randy Spicer, Timothy Spicer, Tiffany Spicer, Jared Kruppa and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, his mother and two sisters, Dorothy Jean Barbee and Helen M. Hunter.
