Regina, a fiercely independent and passionate woman of faith, passed away on February 2nd, 2025 at the age of 65. Known for her strong opinions and unwavering loyalty, she was a devoted friend who stood by those she loved. A proud woman of Italian ancestry, she embraced her heritage wholeheartedly and carried its traditions with her throughout her life. She had a deep love for horses, finding both freedom and solace in their presence. Regina lived authentically and unapologetically, always true to herself in every aspect of life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who were inspired by her strength and spirit.
Born and raised in Santa Cruz, California to Carol Augustine and Camillus Gullo on January 14, 1960, the oldest of 4 children. Regina loved her early life in California and spoke often of trips to the beach and riding horses in the desert. Regina moved to Colorado at the age of 21 in search of independence. She met her husband, Trent, they married in 1982 and spent the next 43 years together. They had 3 incredible children and adopted numerous exchange students.
Regina and Trent started hosting exchange students in the early years of their marriage. They have hosted from all over the world including: Lithuania, Estonia, Japan, Mongolia, Macedonia, Tajikistan, Australia, Mexico. Regina’s favorite student will always be Darko Lukic. Darko came into Regina’s home and never left. Later adopted by Regina and Trent, Darko fit right in as fourth child and eldest boy. Before her death, Regina finally was able to complete her dream trip to visit Darko and his family in Serbia and Macedonia.
Regina had a passion for education- she helped to start the first charter school in the St Vrain Valley School District. She dedicated many years as a board member of Twin Peaks Classical Academy and always put education as a top priority. Regina spent her entire professional career in the commercial insurance industry. She worked as a top account manager for many years for some of the largest chains and businesses.
When she wasn’t working or supporting TPCA, you would find Regina working on Casey Farms or riding the trails with her many horses. Regina loved all animals and among her favorites include her horses, chickens, donkeys and her beloved corgis.
7 years ago, Regina received one of the greatest gifts, her niece Gianna Jean. One could not spend more than 5 mins around Regina without hearing a Gianna story or the latest Gianna photo. They spent many hours together picking out clothes, going to riding lessons and singing the blues.
Regina is preceded in death by her parents, Carol and Camillus and mother-in-law, Linda Casey.
Regina is survived by her husband, Trent Casey, and three children: Aaron Robert, Tyler Lee and Carrie Marie. As well as her brother, Anthony Gullo, sister-in-law Stephanie Gullo, and cherished niece, Gianna Jean Gullo. As well as adopted son, Darko Lukic, his wife Asya and daughters Ana and Sophia.
In lieu of flowers- we ask that a donation be made to Regina’s favorite horse rescue, Colorado Horse Rescue Network. https://www.coloradohorserescuenetwork.com/donate
