Remington Jay Alexander Anderson was born on April 15, 1997 in Tula, Russia, a city of approximately 1.5 million people, 2 ½ hours south of Moscow. We brought him home to where we lived in Arizona on July 3, 1999. Teachers from his early years in elementary school at Northwest Christian School in Phoenix remarked that Remington was always a happy kid with a constant smile on his face, and he was remembered for that throughout his life. In 2004 our family moved to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri, for the country lifestyle, where Remington enjoyed showing off his tamed and prized rooster, Cogburn. All his hens were also tamed and provided eggs for him to sell. Remington’s love of animals was first displayed by caring for all his pets at home, from our cows to the horses, chickens, dogs and cats, and continued to his last days of life on this earth where he had jobs caring for neighbor’s horses, cattle, dogs and cats.
Remington has lived in Colorado since 2013 to be close to both sides of extended family. He attended Resurrection Christian School in Loveland and graduated from Erie High School in 2015. From a school assignment, he listed these as personal achievements: Lettering in band and playing marching bass in the award-winning Camdenton, MO marching band, Excellent State rating on a 4-piece percussion ensemble, participating in the gifted program at school, playing baseball throughout his school life, robotics team at Camdenton, as well as the trapshooting team in Camdenton. Remington also loved snow skiing in Colorado, and would jump in his car on any day of the week that the snow conditions were good at Eldora. He was an excellent pianist, playing all his favorite music selections by ear, and always resisting learning to read the music. Recently, Remington was perfecting his skills at the drums when he acquired his first drum set. He listed his character traits as hard working, fast learning, quick to forgive and friendly.
Remington is survived by his parents, Randy and Ruth Anderson of Erie, CO, his aunts and uncles, Lois and Richard Gray of Westminster, CO, and Lanny and Nancy Anderson of Randall, MN. First cousins, Amanda Gray of Denver, CO and Becky Anderson Hoover (Travis) of Elk River, MN and Elizabeth Anderson Borlaug (Aaron) of St. Cloud, MN, as well as many other uncles, aunts and cousins who have loved him well.
Remington was a gift given to us 17 years ago, and he was loved by all who knew him. Thank you for the part you played in his life. We are at peace with the knowledge that he is now residing with our Father, and other loved ones, in Heaven. Through all this, may God get the glory!
