

Richard Nissen Jr., 39, of Johnstown, CO passed away June 2015. He was born in May of 1976 in Longmont, CO to Richard Sr. and Patricia (Woodson) Nissen.Rich grew up in Longmont and attended Niwot High School. He loved playing basketball and baseball. He started his career early on in the concrete business working with his Dad and his uncles. Rich was a workaholic, always providing his girls with the best. When not at work, he was always willing to help others with anything they might need. He had a huge heart.In July 2000 he married Kristi Eschenbrenner in Milliken, CO. They have four beautiful girls that he loved dearly. He loved being a kid himself and rough housing with his girls, nieces, nephews and cousins. We will never forget his special laughter he had when playing with the girls. He enjoyed taking the girls snake hunting, which the girls loved and Kristi hated. He liked to spend time in Iowa and Nebraska with family. He enjoyed sports and games of all kinds, especially games of strategy. He was always up for a good debate on most any subject. Rich was an avid reader, it didn't matter the subject. If it was a newspaper, magazine or a book he picked it up and read it from cover to cover. He also loved the outdoors. From an early age he loved to hike, fish, and camp with his family and friends.Rich is survived by his wife Kristi, daughters Jenna, Alyssa, Jaclyn, Delanee, his parents Patricia and Richard Nissen, grandparents Elaine, Max and Betty, sisters Angie Soderborg and Jennifer Leibman, eleven nieces and nephews, a great niece, numerous aunts and uncles, father and mother in law Ray and Jaci Eschenbrenner, brother and sister in laws, Tim Leibman, Jay Soderborg, and Eric and Julie Eschenbrenner, along with many wonderful cousins.Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints in Johnstown (3435 Brunner Blvd). Cremation entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Rich Nissen Memorial Fund in care of First National Bank of Johnstown.
