

Robert G. “Bob” Cole of Longmont passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2014. He was 78. Mr. Cole was born in South Sioux City, NE on May 31, 1936 to Pat and Viola Mae (Irons) Cole. Bob was married to Donna Lou (Mann) who survives.
Bob had several occupations throughout his life. He was a supervisor with C & Z Circuits and was also employed by SAE and Circraft. Mr. Cole and his wife formerly owned the Lyons Bakery from 1992 until 1998. Most recently, Bob worked in maintenance at the Fox Hill Country Club. He was member of New Creation Church and the Lyons Golden Gang for several years. When Bob was 16 he quit school in the 10th grade and went to work at Gem’s Body Shop in South Sioux City, NE, to help his mother support the family.
Bob was a modest and shy person but enjoyed helping to deliver Meals on Wheels in Lyons. Some of his hobbies included working with leather and he was a gun enthusiast. He especially enjoyed watching the old western movies. John Wayne was his favorite and had watched every single movie he made at least once. He even enjoyed watching Professional Wrestling.
Bob is survived by his wife, Donna Lou of Longmont; Sons, Robert A., Marlon D. and Donald W and daughters, Pamela Nelson and Brenda Stansberry. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and two sisters. Bob was preceded in death by two daughters, Debra Twiford and Cynthia Solis, one grandson, Frankie Robert Cole and a great-granddaughter, Ella Edwards
