Robert John Dalton

Robert John Dalton aka Bob was born June 17, 1930 in Boulder, Colorado. Bob passed away at age 86 on March 31, 2017 in Longmont, Colorado. Bob was a 4th generation Dalton in Boulder County. Bob parents were John and Violet Dalton. Bob grew up in Boulder and attended Casey Jr High, Boulder High and spent some time at CU Boulder. Bob drove oil trucks with his buddy Dick Hollinger for a couple of years before he settled down and began a career with his dad at Dalton Plumbing and Heating. Bob was a Master Plumber for over 45 years in Boulder County. Bob was honored to be a part of the Boulder County Sheriff’s department as a volunteer for about 8 years in the 60’s. Bob was an important member of the Jamestown community, he managed and coordinated the installation of the water system, he helped build Fire station CD5 and the kitchen addition at the Jamestown church. Bob was a member of the Jamestown church and over the years became a member of First Christian Church in Boulder. He served as the property chairman for a few years there. First Christian Church, now called Cairn Christian Church in Lafayette, was Bob’s church home until his last days. Bob was also a member of the Boulder Elks club for many years.

Bob enjoyed many fishing trips, road trips to Phoenix and skiing. Later in life Bob traveled to many places like Yellowstone, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Mexico, Napa Valley, Carmel and the Bahamas. Bob was an excellent carpenter and enjoyed building cabinets and other special wood projects for family Christmas gifts. Bob had a unique knack to build or repair just about anything! He loved collecting beer steins and he loved his Christmas village and train set that he setup every year. Bob spend his last few months at Peaks Care Center where he continued to show his sense of humor and made many new friends that loved him.

Bob is survived by his wife Judy Dalton of Firestone, his sister Dorothy and Bill Forest of Nebraska, his son Bret and Cindy Dalton of Timnath, his daughter Stephanie and LR Powers of Longmont, his step daughters; Kandi and Rich Bills of Todd Creek, Cheri Goodard of Firestone & Nancy Goodard of Lakewood. Bob had 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Celebration of life will be Saturday April 8, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Cairn Christian Church
