
Robert Michael ""Mike"" Hillyer of Frederick, Colorado died at his home on January 12, 2009. He was 60.Mike was born on November 3, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana. His parents were Jack T. and Marjorie (Grafton) Hillyer. He grew up and attended school in Maracaibo, Venezuela. He then attended high school in Nederland Texas and then studied at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.Mike married Beverly G. King on December 19, 1970 in Nederland, Texas. Mike lived in Riverton, Wyoming for 20 years working in the oil fields. His work in the oil services industry took him to Venezuela and Brazil and since 2001 in the Rocky Mountain area. Mike started a new company in the oil and gas services industry of which he continued to work until recently. Mike enjoyed playing cards, golfing, and going on the mountain.His parents preceded Mr. Hillyer in death. He is survived by his wife Beverly; his son Todd Hillyer, his daughter Wendi Hillyer and a granddaughter Dominique Hillyer all of Texas, and a brother, James Hillyer of Houston, Texas; father-in-law, C. V. King of Nederland, Texas; sister-in-law, Phyllis Lee and her husband Robert of China, Texas; brother-in-law Terry King and his wife Mary of Beaumont, Texas; and five nephews: Chris, Wes, Chad, Nick, and Logan, all of Texas.Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14 at Howe Mortuary from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Chapel at Howe Mortuary at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15 with Chaplain Dale Poland officiating.
