Robert Dale Kanzler

Robert Dale (Bob) Kanzler, 69, of Greeley died of natural causes on November 2, 2013.Bob was born on February 12, 1944 to the late Henry Kanzler and Syble Rae Johnson Kanzler in Limon, Colorado. He graduated from Limon High school in 1962 and received a BA in Industrial Education from Colorado State College in 1967. He married Constance Coffman in 1962 and together they lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado until their separation in 1972. He married Sharon Smith in April, 1973, where they resided in Colorado Springs and then relocated to Cheyenne, Wyoming.Bob worked at State Farm and the University of Northern Colorado while attending college. Then he worked as an independent contractor with Gertsch Mendenhal until 1982. He proceeded to open his own company Kanzler & Sons Construction in Colorado Springs. When he moved to Cheyenne he worked for Redco Construction through 1992. He continued to frame houses with Kanzler Construction in Cheyenne and Greeley until his retirement in 2005.Bob loved spending time camping, waterskiing, hunting, fishing, playing pool and just joking around with his family and friends. He loved to fly and was a few hours from completing his pilot's license. In 1993 his High School basketball teams from 1960 through 1962 were recognized by the Air Force for their accomplishments. During his years at Limon High School, he was a three sport athlete on teams that won a total of eleven state championships. In 2013 he was inducted into the Limon Sports Hall of Fame. Bob is survived by six children: Kristina (Matthew) Green of Greeley, Colorado; Jalonna (Tim) Ehler of Early, Iowa; Christian Kanzler (Mechelle) of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Robert Dale (Allison) Kanzler II of Fort Collins and Brian (Kristin) Kanzler of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and Melanie Kanzler (Nick) of Evans, Colorado. He is survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grand children. He is also survived by brothers, Melvin, Clifford, and Lester Kanzler and sisters, Ruth Lake and Charlotte Larsen.
