January 19, 1935 - March 9, 2022
Bob was born January 19, 1935 in Louisville, CO to Alex and Bertha (LaSalle) Schwab and went home to be with my mom, grandparents and his son Kevin on March 9, 2022.
Bob lived in Longmont his entire life graduating from Longmont High School in 1953.
He enlisted and was honorably discharged from the US Navy.
After his discharge he went to work with his dad in the family business Schwab Electric. He was an electrician for over 40 years working as the electrical contractor for Ivan Forbes and the new Longmont Hospital, which is Longmont United today. He then joined IBEW Local # 68 and worked on the St Vrain Power Plant and Rocky Flatts.
He married Sherrie Nelson on August 30, 1959. In 1960 a daughter Robyn was born and their son Kevin was born the following year in 1961.
He loved golfing at Sunset Golf Course, the CU Buffaloes, the Denver Broncos, but his greatest love was being a dad, grandpa and great grandpa.
After retiring my mom and dad loved to travel visiting friends and family, cruises and Hawaii. After my mom passed away he enjoyed a Panama Cruise with his friend Marian Blecha.
He was preceded in death by his parents, my mom in 2008, and his son Kevin in 2021, as well as, his sister Shirley and close friends Bob Neiman and Frank Selbe.
He is survived by his daughter Robyn and Son in law Danny Arias. His five Grandchildren Adam Arias (Holly Haakenson), Danna Arias (Bobby Armijo), Lexi Arias (Taylor Johnson), Eric Schwab (Samantha), Aly Schwab and his inherited grandson Shaun Kenny (Samantha Garcia-Kenny). He is further survived by his pride and joy, five great grandchildren, Chance, Dawkin, Logann, Addison and Braxtin. Cousins Bill Schwab (Judy), Larry, Barry and Gerry LaSalle, and his McDonald's Coffee Buddies.
The family requests no flowers but donations in his name to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation (JDF) so they can find a cure for Chance!
