Robert Lloyd Thompson

Robert Lloyd Thompson, 86, of Longmont, Colorado, passed away on January 24, 2025. He was born on November 23, 1938, in Corning, Iowa to Robert Thompson and Ruby Hickman; and graduated from Corning High School.

Robert proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years before beginning a long and dedicated career with the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked for 35 years. In 1972, he moved from Iowa to Longmont, where he built a life centered around family, hard work, and his love for the outdoors. During his lifetime, Robert was first married to Carmalita Thompson, and then later to Susan Thompson.

He had a deep passion for fishing and hunting, which brought him great joy throughout his life. Robert also cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to support them—especially when it came to dance and sports.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his children: John Thompson of Greeley, CO; daughters Jennifer (James) Mearing and Kelly (Mike) Breiting; and his beloved grandchildren: Sara, Taylor, Nicole, Jake (Maddie), and Katie (Joshua).

As per his wishes, no services will be held. The family appreciates the love and support from friends during this time.
