Roy Patrick

Roy Patrick, 61, of Ocala, FL formerly of CO passed away September 17, 2013 in Ocala. He was born July 23, 1952 in Decatur, Ill to William E. and Dolores A. (Threlkeld) Patrick.Roy served in the US Army from 1969 to 1971 where he was a LAV crewman and demolition expert. He was in Vietnam 13 September 1970 to 8 September 1971. His decorations include the National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device; Army Commendation Medal, and Combat Infantryman's Badge.He moved to Colorado in 1984 then to Florida in 2007. While he was in Florida, he was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church where he received great joy serving as a home communion minister.Music was a very big part of Roy's life. He enjoyed recording his music and frequent jam sessions with friends in his home studio. Roy was even a piano and organ service technician for many years. He was an avid golfer and fisherman who loved his family, grandchildren, and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife.Roy is survived by his wife Narissa Patrick of Ocala, FL, three children; daughters Jill Patrick of Thornton, CO and Lindy Pape, husband Nicholas, of NAS Pensacola, FL, son Richard Jantz, of Minneapolis, MN. His three siblings, brothers; Larry Patrick, wife Carol, of Plainfield, IN and Wes Patrick, of Decatur, IL, sister Patsy Strader, husband Gary, of Edwardsville, IL and four grandchildren; Christian, Brian, Caiden, and Andrew.Visitation will be 6 PM to 9 PM Tuesday Sept. 24, at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel in Longmont, CO. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Wednesday Sept. 25, 2013 at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 11040 Colorado Blvd Thornton, CO. Interment will be at Longmont Mountain View Cemetery at 2:30 PM Wednesday Sept 25.
