Rudolpho 'rudy' Ortega

Rudolpho L. ""Rudy"" Ortega, Jr., 39, of Longmont, died Friday, February 22, 2008 at Longmont United Hospital.Rudy was born January 25, 1969 in Longmont, to Rudolpho Jose Ortega, Sr. and Eulalia C. Gonzales. After graduating from Longmont High School in 1987, he attended the University of Northern Colorado. He had worked as a test technician for Ecrix and Valley Lab, and most recently as a ranch hand as well as in construction.His family will miss his sense of humor, comedic delivery and story telling. He was an artist and writer, enjoyed disc golf, camping, and watching and playing sports.Rudy is survived by his parents of Longmont; a son, Andre Ortega of Hartford City, Indiana; five sisters, Rachel (Del) Garcia of Cary, North Carolina, Theresa (Richard) Worrell of Longmont, Vickie (Dave) Benson of Longmont, Caroline (John) Montez of Dacono, and Sara (John) Ortega-McGraw of Loveland; four brothers, Steve Torres of Greeley, David (Dalia) Torres of Frederick, Juan Ortega of Longmont, and Ramon (Jennifer) Ortega of Dacono; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Juan Torres.Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Howe Mortuary, Longmont. A funeral service will be held in the Howe Mortuary Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 with Reverend David McElreath of Ambassador Baptist Church officiating.
