Sandra (Burns) Allen Hunter

Sandra (Burns) Allen Hunter, 55, of Boulder, CO passed away peacefully at Boulder Community Hospital June 3, 2015 after many years of dealing with injuries sustained in a fall in Gregory Canyon in 1992. Sandra was born June 17, 1959 in Newark, NJ to William Thomas & Frances (Lovett) Burns.Sandra attended Boulder High School and after high school, worked for Contemporary Comfort where she met Rodney Allen. They married and moved to Missouri in 1989. They later divorced and Sandra returned to the Boulder area. For the past 5 years, she resided at Mesa Vista of Boulder.Until Sandra's accident, she enjoyed dancing and sports. She was a strong swimmer and hiker and enjoyed camping, biking and rafting. Later her keen awareness of color and design was expressed in her paintings and sketches. Her natural friendly nature endeared her to many friends.Sandra is preceded in death by her father William and brother Kevin Fitzgerald Burns.Sharing many warm and precious memories of Sandy are her surviving relatives, her mother Frances and sister Debra Burns of Longmont, brothers William Burns and Gerald Burns, daughters Lauren Allen of Iowa and Janine Allen of Missouri, grandchildren Makena Wills, Kendra Garcia, Caden Garcia, Tony McCallen, Jacelyn Rosenbaum and Harper Rosenbaum, sister-in-law Julie, niece Caora and nephew Bryan.A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00pm, Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Longmont Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1712 Mountain View Ave. Visit www.ahlbergfuneralchapel.com to share condolences.
