She was born December 10, 1950 in Las Vegas, Nevada to U.S. Air Force Sargent C.B. Arnold and Marie (Klassen) Arnold. Due to her father’s military service, Sara spent her pre-school years in the Philippines before settling in Aurora, Colorado. She grew up there, active in the Girl Scouts and graduating from Aurora Central H.S. and then C.U. Boulder with a degree in speech therapy/communications.
Sara spent many years living and working along the Front Range area of Colorado where she made and fostered many good and long-lasting friendships. She became a good friend to nearly everyone she met.
In 1993 she settled in Longmont. Sara had a bright intelligence allowing her to excel in a variety of office work, scheduling, bookkeeping and customer service while her true talent shone in her many artistic pursuits; drawing, painting, beaded jewelry but mostly quilting. She produced many beautiful quilts for family and friends. She also was an active lover of the outdoors where she enjoyed sailing, skiing, hiking, biking, birding and gardening.
Sara loved her animals and was the companion to many cats and dogs. At the time of her death she had been married to husband David for 24 years. She has been his unwavering core and will be severely missed by him. Sara is preceded in death by her father and mother. She is survived by husband David, brother Carl Arnold, and brother Sam Arnold, all of Longmont. Contributions may be made to TRU Community Care using the link below.
A memorial service for Sara will be held at Calvary Church on Saturday, August 13. Please join the family to enjoy light refreshments and share memories of Sara.
