Sharon Ann Drieth Davis of Longmont passed away, June, 30 2018 from a hard fought battle with cancer. She was born on December 2, 1943 the first child of Joseph and Jean Drieth of Longmont. Sharon grew up on farms in Longmont and Mead. Many times Sharon talked about Joe stopping by the house and picking up his kids to help him unload a load of bricks so they could go set water or whatever else they had to do on the farm. She was very proud of the farm on County line road, because her family had finally purchased a farm of their own. There Sharon had so many fond memories of farming with her family, but she disliked moving the aluminum sprinkler pipe because it would pull her little boots off in the mud. She graduated from Longmont High School in 1962. Sharon had several jobs including working at Neodata, Western Cutlery, and the Black Angus which was little sock hop dinner.
She married Gary D Davis of Longmont on May 11, 1968. Her and Gary bought property East of Del Camino where they raised their two sons Lyle and Steve. Sharon helped Gary with the Davis family excavating business. She ran equipment, took care of the books, and fetched truckloads of parts. Sharon and her husband Gary walked hand in hand and hip to hip through their entire marriage. They were happily married for 30 years until his untimely death. She was also a proud homemaker and mother. Her family was her first priority. Sharon truly loved her family and she never missed an opportunity to attend an event or holiday with her grandchildren. She wanted to live to be 100 years old to see all of her grandchildren graduate high school, get married, and have children of their own.
She enjoyed local history going to antique tractor shows, museums, and she rarely missed a Drieth family reunion. Sharon and her husband were active members of St. Vrain Muzzleloaders club. They participated in several rendezvous throughout Colorado. She won several awards for marksmanship with the Bow Benders Archery Club. Sharon enjoyed cross stich and sewing, her mother Jean and she would make all the families clothing when she was young. As Sharon grew older, she really enjoyed lunch at the Platteville and Mead Senior Centers. There she could keep up with the lives of her old friends, many of them her family had known for generations.
Our beloved Grandma Sharon will be truly missed by her family!
