

Shirley M. Gransee of Longmont, Colorado died January 16, 2007 at Longmont United Hospital. She was 85.Shirley was born on April 29, 1921 in Evansville, Wisconsin to Raymond and Carolyn (Shoemacher) Estes. She grew up and attended school in Evansville. She then married Earl Clifford Gransee in Evansville, Wisconsin on March 22, 1941. The family moved to Longmont from Oregon, Wisconsin in 1976.Shirley was a homemaker who enjoyed being at home, taking care of the family and doing craft activities. She made teddy bears, Victorian decorations, Christmas decorations and many other crafts for gifts; enjoyed baking and was a cake decorator making wedding and birthday cakes, and raising flowers in her garden.Mrs. Gransee was a member of the Order of Eastern Star ? Columbine Chapter # 11 in Longmont and the Longmont Federated Women?s Club.Her parents, her husband and a brother, Ted Estes, preceded Mrs. Gransee in death.Surviving are two sons: David Gransee and his wife Mary Jean of Longmont, Colorado and Alan Gransee and his wife Sherry of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.Memorial services will be held on Sunday, January 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Howe Mortuary with Chaplain Susan Warren of Hospice of Boulder and Broomfield Counties officiating. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Howe Mortuary of Longmont. The family will hold an inurnment in Maple Hill Cemetery in Evansville, Wisconsin this summer.Memorials may be given in Shirley?s memory to Hospice of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, 2594 Trailridge Drive East, Suite A, Lafayette, CO 80026.
