Shirley M. "Swede" Henry was born on January 23, 1938 to Arthur Dean and Vada Helen Pennington in Greely, Colorado. Her family moved to Arizona, California and Utah before settling in Longmont in 1952.
She graduated from Longmont High School in 1956. And worked for Mountain Bell Telephone in Denver. In her later years she worked at Twin Peaks and Sunset Golf courses.
She married Leon Henry on August 2nd, 1958. Her sports were bowling, golf, slow pitch softball, horseshoes with the Boulder Horseshoe Club and Race walking 118 races in Colorado, totaling 465 miles.
Shirley entered into rest on January 31, 2020.
She is survived by her husband, two sons; Todd and Michael and his wife Tracy. Three grandsons; Mitch, Devin and Nickolas; her step granddaughter Mckenzie Murray. Her cousin Pat Miller and husband, Kenny and her numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on February 29th at 1:00 pm at the Elks Lodge 306 Coffman St.
