Stella Elaine Xander

Stella Elaine Xander, 70, passed away December 31, 2017 at her home.She was born October 24, 1947 in Littleton, CO. She moved with her family to a farm northeast of Longmont where she grew up. Stella graduated from Longmont High School in 1965. She was a member of the National Honor Society.On September 2, 1967 she married Gary Lee Xander at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in Longmont.Stella had a long career with Ball Aerospace, both at the corporate level and at the manufacturing facility in Boulder. She retired in 2012.She was a member at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church and taught in the religious education program.Stella was a loving wife and mother. She was an active leader in Girls Scouts with her daughters.She enjoyed sewing, often sewing clothes for her girls. Stella was an avid gardener, spending time caring for her flowers, notably her mums and the iris bulbs she had received from her mother.She was preceded in death by her parents.Stella is survived by her husband Gary, three daughters Sheila Sausman (Eric), Karen Myers and Lori Carter (John), seven grandchildren Samantha Myers, Heath Myers, Lisa Myers, Hannah Sausman, Sarah Sausman, Jacob Carter and Sheridan Carter, one great granddaughter Trinity Strickland and one brother Richard Loper (Beverly).Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10:00 am Friday January 5, 2018 at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church.
