Sue J. Loper

Sue J. Loper passed away January 13, 2017 in Longmont, Colorado at her home. She was 88 years old.Sue was born on March 9, 1928 in Honaker, Virginia to Edward and Rachel (Keene) Johnston.She graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Nursing in 1951. On March 3, 1956 she married Hubert Horry (Harry) Loper, Jr. in Virginia.When the family moved to Mobile, Alabama, Sue worked as an instructor at the Providence School of Nursing and the Mobile County Health Department. During this time she also worked as a private Home Health nurse.Sue was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and Calvary Assembly of God in Mobile. She moved to Longmont, Colorado in 2007 from Alabama.She was preceded in death by her husband Harry; her parents; one brother and one sister.Sue is survived by her son Stephen (Linda) Loper of Indianapolis, IN; her daughters Lynn (George) Gesegnet of Boulder, CO and Janet Loper of Niwot, CO; her grandchild Shae Loper; and her many wonderful caregivers through Compassionate Home Health Care.Funeral service and burial will take place in Chatom, Alabama.
