Teodora Frances Cordova

Teodora ""Tita"" Cordova of Longmont, died June 6, 2009 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. She was 84.Teodora was born on June 4, 1925 in Santa Rosa, New Mexico to Roman Romero and Aurora Martinez Romero. The family moved to Longmont in the early 1930's, farming in the Weld County area. She married Louis Cordova on August 24, 1949 in Greeley. Teodora was a homemaker, providing for her husband Louis and children. Her home was always open and the center for activity, especially her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Longmont. A baseball enthusiast, she closely followed her beloved Rockies.Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents Roman and Aurora Romero a daughter Lisa Cordova, granddaughter Christina Moreno and brothers Roman Romero, Jr. and Onofre Romero.Surviving are her daughters Josephine (Alfonso) Acosta, Emily Rodriguez, Mary Alvidrez and Louisa Cordova all of Longmont; three sons Jake Cordova, Anthony Cordova and Jesse (Jen) Cordova all of Longmont; a sister Ramona (Joe) Anaya; brothers Tom (Flora) Romero of San Jose, CA and Crestino (Florinda) Romero of Fairplay, Colorado. She is further survived by 18 grandchildren Eric (Katherine) Acosta, Jamie Acosta, Lyndsey and Ryan Cordova, Daniel (Isis) Rodriguez, T.J. and Zachary Martinez, Ambra Cordova, Julia Cordova (Brian Radford), Raquel and Niko Alvidrez, Devon, Jeffrey and Enrique Cordova, Geoffrey Ogden, Danny (Amanda) Moreno and Crystal Moreno and Victor Gauna; and 12 great grandchildren Jillian and Matthew Acosta, Alanah and Aliyah Cordova, Alyssa Rodriguez, Mari and Hector Gonzalez, Athena Alvidrez, Mischa Orozco, Danny Moreno, Jacob Radford and Kaidyn Johnson.A Vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 10 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Deacon Bob Howard. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 11 at St. John's with Reverend Brian Morrow officiating.Interment will follow at the Longmont Mountain View Cemetery.
