Theresa Darlene Morales, 71, of Longmont, CO, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, April 22, 2024. Theresa was born on September 6, 1952, in Pueblo, CO, to Ben and Vera Trujillo (Urioste). She spent her formative years in Bessemer, where she cultivated the resilience and determination that would define her life.
As a single mother, Theresa poured her heart and soul into raising her three children, Tina Pena, Ritza Richardson, and Jeremiah Karathanasis. Despite the formidable challenges she faced, Theresa was a beacon of love, providing support to her children with the help of her devoted brothers and family.
Later in life, Theresa and her children settled in Loveland, CO, where she embarked on a successful career at Hewlett Packard until her retirement in 2006. In 2007, she made Longmont her home, where she continued to radiate warmth and kindness to all who knew her.
Theresa had a zest for family and loved ones that was contagious. She especially enjoyed spending time with her brothers, Pat, Chris and Mike, and her sister, Bernadette, sharing laughter and creating cherished memories together. Their family bond was unbreakable, a testament to the love and camaraderie that defined their family and held them together throughout life.
Music filled Theresa's home, and she took great pleasure in sharing her passion with her brothers, sharing songs from their childhood and helping her brothers curate playlists for the family to share. She cherished long walks with her daughters and her sidekick pup Marvel. Theresa delighted in hosting Sunday football parties for her family, where her enthusiasm for the game was infectious.
Theresa's culinary talents were legendary, and her green chile and homemade beans were beloved by all who tasted them. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and hospitality, where she welcomed friends and family with open arms.
Above all, Theresa's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She was a loving and supportive mother, sister, and aunt whose unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her. Her grandchildren, who affectionately called her “bonga and goomba,” held a special place in her heart, and she took great pride in watching them grow and thrive.
