Tisha Renee Alpers

Tish was born on March 25, 1971 in Lubbock, Texas. She grew up in Lufkin, graduating from Lufkin High School, where she was a cheerleader. She brought joy and deep friendships to all she encountered in her experience there.

Tish had a thirst for knowledge and studied Pediatric Nursing, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M and later a Master’s from the University of Colorado. She practiced nursing at Children’s Hospital of Texas, Children’s Hospital of Colorado and most recently at Avista Hospital in Louisville as a pediatric nurse practitioner.

Tish’s sons, Jordan and Rylan were her focus and joy. She introduced, coached and coordinated their many pursuits in various athletics through the years. She was always in the middle of providing fundraisers, travel plans and parties for the boy’s teams. When she could find free time, she enjoyed exercise, physical training and reading.

Tish was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, where she attended and assisted with her son’s activities at the school.

Surviving are her sons Jordan and Rylan Alpers of Lafayette; parents Tricia and Brian McGuire of Boulder; a brother Ryan (Holli) Skelton of Montgomery, Texas; a sister Sarah Skelton of Austin, Texas; and numerous uncles, cousins and a nephew and niece. She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents Bob and Jane Holliday.

A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 1 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, Broomfield, Colorado. A Mass will follow at the Church at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow the services.
