It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Toni Lynn Green. We wish there were enough words that could tell her story and describe just how much she is loved, but we would be writing a series of books as she truly and deeply touched every person that she met during her time with us on Earth.
Toni was born on September 17th, 1966 in Colorado to Charles Hanes and Barbara Church. She grew up in Longmont, Colorado where she attended Skyline High School , and graduated from Olde Columbine High School. She married Michael Green on Valentine's Day 1991 , and together they had two children, Jeremy in July of 1988 and Jaymie in June of 1995.
Toni was known for her kindness, vibrant spirit, and of course, her love for the Denver Broncos. She loved classic muscle cars and attending cruise nights on Main Street in Longmont every year with her husband and friends. She and Mike shared a '69 El Camino for 38 years and hoped to return to the cruise. She loved 80's heavy metal and would want you to rock out in her honor. She also enjoyed reading horror books and watching horror movies, particularly Stephen King and Dean Koontz.
She found great joy and passion for early childhood development and was a part of many families for whom she nannied and babysat. She spent many years caring for children as the director of Children's World, preschool teacher at Seven Oaks Academy, and the director of childcare for The Family Village. She finished her career with Early Childhood Partnerships of Adams County (ECPAC) serving as a coach for childcare providers, helping them to get their ratings and receive grants. She took a lot of pride in her service to the community and ensuring that every provider and child had the best care possible.
Aside from work, Toni poured every ounce of her love into her family, and her greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. She was the absolute best grandma to her granddaughters Arya and Kora. She loved to play with them, sing to them, and read them books.
Toni had a unique ability to make everyone she knew feel welcomed, loved, special, and cared for. Her legacy is one of love, light, and joy, a testament to the beautiful life that she lived, though far too short.
Toni is survived by her husband Michael Green, son Jeremy Green along with his partner Kirstie Baer, daughter Jaymie Green and her partner Bosley Betzer, granddaughters Kora Green and Arya Betzer, her mother Barbara Records and stepfather Russ Records, her father Charles Hanes and stepmother Barbie Hanes, her brother Tom Hanes and sister-in-law Ruth Hanes, her grandmother Joy Church, her in-laws Paul Green and Joann Green, sister-in-law Paula Burnside, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Her best friend Suzi Brossart, Suzi's daughter Athena Andree, and many, many other close friends.
Thank you to everyone who was a part of Toni's story and for continuing to carry forward her memory for generations to come.
A Celebration of Life will be announced in the coming weeks.
