Valdean Marie Peppler of Longmont went to be with her precious Lord and Savior on March 20, 2024, at the age of 94. She was born December 16, 1929, in Denver, Colorado to Clinton and Pearl Brown. Her family moved to the Longmont area where she graduated from Longmont High School. There she met and was pursued by her sweetheart, Glen Peppler. They were married on May 2, 1947, in Goodland Kansas, and established their home in Longmont. Valdean and Glen raised five children. Valdean was a busy wife and mother caring for the home while keeping up with all of their activities. Not only was she the rock for her family, but her door was always open to others.
Valdean’s love of the Lord led her to be a faithful servant. She attended numerous bible studies and fellowship meetings whenever she had the opportunity. She had a gift of working with children and volunteered as a children’s church leader and Sunday school teacher, serving her church in any capacity needed. After raising her family, Valdean opened a Christian bookstore, The Lordswalk Center, where she ministered to everyone who passed through the door. Val had so many people who sought her wisdom and guidance and she welcomed them with open arms. Many of her grandchildren worked in her store as they were growing up, and when she approached retirement, two of her granddaughters purchased the store to grow and carry on her passion for ministry.
Valdean and Glen started traveling and ended up purchasing a home in Lake Havasu, Arizona where they escaped for the winter months. They enjoyed their beautiful home and casual lifestyle in the warm Arizona sun. The family would fill their home each spring break and they continued to travel there every winter until health problems ensued, making them feel safer in their Longmont home where they were closer to family and friends.
Valdean was a prayer warrior and had the gift of encouragement. She spent her life serving the Lord by caring for family, friends, and church members. She was a resident of Brookdale Mariana Butte at the time of her passing and had embraced her fellow residents sharing scriptures and kind words.
Valdean was preceded in death by her loving husband Glen, her daughter Delene Tuominen, her great-granddaughter Rivena Dillon, her parents, and two brothers. She is survived by her daughters, Cherine (Bill) Steel, Bonita (Scott) Ekx, Marci (Ron) Warembourg, and son Glen (Rachelle) Peppler, and son-in-law Jerry Tuominen. She is also survived by her sister Darlene (Louis) Lee, 14 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. Valdean was blessed to meet and cradle her newest great-great granddaughter the day she was called home to be with the Lord.
A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, April 2nd at Mountain View Cemetery on Main Street in Longmont at 11:00 am. A celebration of life will follow at The River Church at 18668 N. Saint Vrain Drive, Lyons, CO.
