Verna Viola Plank

Verna Viola Plank, 93, of Boulder, Colorado, died Thursday, May 28, 2009 at ManorCare in Boulder.Verna was born September 11, 1915, in Industry, Illinois, the daughter of James Earl and Alba Ellen (Royer) Tribbett. On August 15, 1933, she married Gail Melvin Plank in New London, Missouri. The couple made their home in Illinois until moving to Boulder in 1948 and later to Longmont in 1976.Mrs. Plank had been a cafeteria supervisor for the Boulder Valley School District for 14 years. She enjoyed the mountains and fishing with her husband. She also enjoyed needlework and was a talented seamstress. Verna had been a 49-year member of the Rebekah Lodge. Verna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on June 7, 1999; a son, Keith Lee Plank; and a sister, Irma. Survivors include her sons, Lyle (Bobbie) Plank, of Boulder, and Bill (Kathie) Plank, of Lingle, Wyoming; a brother, James (Vallie) Tribbett, of Oregon; as well as nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2009, at Howe Mortuary in Longmont with Pastor Tom Shirk officiating.
