
Vernon Dale Stiegler passed away on March 5th, 2024 in the comfort of his own home. He was born on October 3, 1932 in Bethalto, Illinois to John and Alice (Berghoff) Stiegler. He attended Bethalto High School and graduated from Alton Senior High School in 1949. He attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. He married Helen Hoff on September 19, 1971 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. They stayed married for 39 years until she passed away March 4, 2010.
He worked for Gould Corp in Longmont for 20 years. He then went on to work for Hewlett and Packard in Fort Collins from 1978 until he retired in 2004.
Vern’s hobbies included reading, traveling, hunting and spending time at casinos.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Northeastern Nevada Historical Society, County Sheriff of Colorado and the Moose Lodge. He was also a former member of the UAW Union, Postman Union and the Air Force Association.
Vern leaves to cherish his memory his Sister-in-law Ilene Ryan; step-daughters, Diane Seldin and Kae Harris; step-son, Dennis Hoff; brothers John and Gary (Linda) Stiegler; five grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson.
