

Viola Edna Sivers of Longmont died June 21, 2006 at Beatrice Hover Assisted Living Center. She was 89.Viola was born on July 4, 1916 in Odebolt, Iowa to Scott Rhule and Mildred Peterson Rhule. She graduated from Odebolt High School in 1934 and later attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines, Iowa.On October 7, 1944, Viola married John Sivers and they made their home in Indianola, Iowa. In 1963, they moved with their two daughters to Longmont were she was employed by the City of Longmont. She was secretary to several Longmont city managers before her retirement in 1981.Mrs. Sivers was a member of First United Methodist and Esther Circle. She was also very active in earlier years with the Order of Eastern Star. She was most proud of her family and the special times they shared together and the joy from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also participated in the 9 Hole Women?s group at Sunset and spent at Senior Center playing pool with her lady friends. Preceding her in death were her husband in 1993, her parents and two sisters. Surviving are her daughters Diane Christiansen and her husband, Eric of Longmont and Janel Brown and her husband Jim of Longmont; four grandchildren Kristin Parsons-Smith and her husband Russ of Berthoud and Shawna Biekert and her husband Greg of Danville, CA, Lauren Brown of Pomona, CA and Logan Brown of Longmont; six great grandchildren Cameron Parsons, Cole Smith, and Campbell Smith all of Berthoud, Sydney, Emily and Audrey Biekert of Danville, CA.Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, June 23, 2006 at the Howe Mortuary Chapel, with Chaplain T.R. Sheforgen officiating. Interment will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery. Contributions may be made to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties, 2594 Trailridge Dr. East, Lafayette, CO 80026.
