Virgil B. Smith

Virgil B. Smith passed away May 3, 2016 at Applewood Living Center. He was 76 years old.Virgil was born on March 21, 1940 in Longmont, CO to George and Mary (Kroph) Smith. He graduated from Mead High School.Virgil worked for Flatirons paving for many years hauling gravel in the mountains until the late 1990's. After that he went to work for his cousin J Smith driving trucks and laying asphalt until his retirement in 2011. Virgil loved bowling and played in several leagues; he was also a skilled wood worker and enjoyed building things.He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Jake Smith and George (Joann) Smith; and his sisters Susie and Lou.Virgil is survived by his brothers Richard Smith, Leroy (Anna) Smith, and Leonard (Donna) Smith; his sister-in-law Dorothy Smith; his cousin J Smith and his wife Sherri; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday May 10, 2016 at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
