

Born on September 16, 1931 in Arriba, Colorado he was the son of Henry Hennig and Bertha Schrotlin Hennig.
He married Betty June Green on April 5, 1952, in Clayton, New Mexico.
Corporal Hennig served his country as a Combat engineer for the United States Army for 2 years (1952-1954). In 1954 he completed his 2 tours in Germany to support U.S. military efforts. He was awarded with a National Defense Service Medal, and an Army Occupational service medal for his time in Germany and for Conduct.
Mr. Hennig after leaving the military began working at Armor Meat Packing Plant in Denver and then moved closer to home by working at the Colorado Brick Company for 30 years. After getting close to retirement he started doing security work for Hospital Shared Services at Longmont United Hospital. Upon retirement he took an outside position at Mountain View Cemetery as a caretaker until he no longer was able to continue.
Survivors include his two daughters, Deborah Hennig and Linda Perry and her husband Michael of Longmont; one brother Marlin Hennig of Oklahoma and sister Marvel Weinmeister of Missouri; three grandsons, Ryan Hennig and his wife Patricia of Virginia, Austin and Matteau Perry of Longmont; three great granddaughters, Grace, Lillian and Cora of Virginia.
William is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Bertha Hennig, his wife Betty Hennig along with two sisters Ruth Howell of Texas and Donna Tarala of Wisconsin
Visitation will be held on Saturday February 1, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Howe Mortuary in Longmont, Colorado. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday February 3, 2020 with reception to follow at 3 p.m. at Howe Mortuary Event Center.
Private INURMENT will be held on February 5, 2020 at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont, Colorado.
