Wilma L. Dickes

Wilma L. Dickes, of Longmont went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Windsor Health Care Center. Wilma suffered from Alzheimer's disease, she was 86. Wilma was born on August 16, 1928 in Parmalee, SD to Earl and Ruby Greer.She attended school in Harlan, IA. On April 30, 1947, she married Eugene Dickes in Harlan. They were married for 63 years.Wilma and Gene moved several times, settling in Longmont in 1962. Wilma was a sewing seamstress supervisor at Sewing, Inc. for 18 years. Sewing was a passion of hers. Wilma and Gene enjoyed camping, boating and traveling after retirement. Wilma was a hard working homemaker who enjoyed cooking, gardening and crafting. She loved her family.Preceding her in death are her parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 1 daughter, 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.She is survived by her brother Verle Greer of Harlan, IA; sister Unis Schumacher of Harlan, IA; four children; Judy A. Schaefer, husband Richard of Longmont, CO, Joan A. Lamb, husband Tom of DuPont, WA, Eugene W. Dickes, Jr., wife Lori of Lyons, CO and Jodi A. Greer, husband Dave of Ft. Collins, CO; ten grandchildren; Todd Schaefer (Amy), Tyler Schaefer (Erica), Stephanie (Schaefer) Hill (Kevin), Jamie Lamb, Lindsay (Lamb) Phillips (Ben), Sean Lamb (Kristi), Jesse Dickes (Hannah), Jacob Dickes (Colleen), Adam Greer and Chl Greer; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild on the way.Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00am, Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Central Longmont, 401 Kimbark St., Longmont with the family present to greet friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Central Longmont. A fellowship reception will follow the service. Cremation to take place following the service and entrusted to Ahlberg Funeral Chapel and Crematory. Inurnment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
