He had worked at Ace Salvage for 35 years, loved bowling and enjoyed watching races at Churchill Downs. Daniel battled Alzheimer ’s disease for 18 years and was cared for in his home by his wife.
Mr. Lyons is survived by his wife of 42 years, Virginia; his four children, Ginny Adwell (Denny), Lisa Alexander (Kent), Cindy Goldsmith (Scott) and Daniel Lyons, Jr. (Kristie); seven grandchildren, Erika, Kelsey, Kameron, Trever, Matilyn, Daniel III and Danica; a great-granddaughter, Adalyn; and a sister, Vivian Korfage (John).
His funeral will be on Saturday at noon at the Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, with interment following in Evergreen Cemetery. Visiting will be on Friday from 2pm until 8pm.
The family would like to express their appreciation to all the physicians and nurses at Nortons and Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospitals, especially Dr. Winders and staff at Valley Medical Associates.
