She was a registered nurse for 42 years for Sts. Mary and Elizabeth and Norton's Hospitals. She was a member of the Kentucky Nurses Association and St. Peter the Apostle.
She was preceded in rest by her sons, Matthew Ellis and his twin brother.
Mrs. Ellis is survived by two children, Nicholas Ellis (Moria Hurtoonian) and Abigail Ellis (James Harris, Jr.); two grandchildren, Maddox and Xavier; her caregiver, Devon, Ellis, Jr.; two brothers, William Burks (Linda) and Paul Burks; and three sisters, Cathy McGrew, Donna Saylor (Terry); and Pam Barnes (Edward).
A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 11:00 AM at St. Peter The Apostle, 5431 Johnsontown Road, Louisville, KY 40272, with interment following in Resthaven Memorial Park, 4400 Bardstown Road. Visitation for Elizabeth will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Heady-Hardy Funeral Home, 7710 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40258.
