

Frances Walker (Kyle) Moorman was born in Scotland on June 21, 1926, to Frances Simpson and William Kyle. She immigrated to America as a child and was raised in Detroit. She graduated from Cass Tech High School in 1944. As a young girl of 18 during World War II, Frances worked in the butterfly bomb factory and then at Western Union where she met a handsome, young soldier named George T. Moorman. In August 1944, She married George. Together they reared 3 children: Bill, Shawna, and Kyle, and enjoyed 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
In 1956, she became a charter member of Valley Station Baptist Church where she taught children's Sunday school, and was very active in the church community for most of her adult life. After retiring from Sears where she worked for many years, she became an active member of the Valley Homemakers.
Frances enriched the lives of others through her joyful attitude, her optimistic spirit, her generosity, and her keen sense of humor, even under duress. She was happiest when surrounded by children, grandchildren, friends, and family and was a ray of light and strength to each of the many lives she touched.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, George Moorman; her 3 children; 4 grandchildren, Tristan Moorman, Kelsey Moorman, Sallie Moorman Ruff and Lindsay Moorman Cassaro, as well as 3 great grandchildren, Vivian and Truett Ruff and Lillian Cassaro.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jim and William Kyle, and her sister, Margaret Kyle Bruning.
Services for Frances will be held at 11 AM on Monday, April 17, 2017 at advantage Funeral Home, Hardy Chapel, 10907 Dixie Hwy. Louisville, KY 40272. Cremation is to follow.
The family will accept visitors from 9-11 AM on Monday, April 17, 2017.
